I just began an eHarmony account a few days ago. It is giving me some hope of finding love again one day, and a way to move on, learning to trust again. If nothing else, learning how to communicate, discern, vet and build healthy relationships. It has been good for my self-esteem. And while it really shouldn't do this all by itself, it has helped to put a spring back into my step again, and that joy spills over into my daily work.
I work in a high stress environment where the staff and patients truly need every source of joy they can get. I never thought about my life having a mission statement, but truly what I do is to help people sleep then to smile first thing when they wake up. This and modeling a healthy lifestyle for my peers and daughter means more than all the pounds of levothyroxine I've delivered or will ever deliver over my career in nursing. This joy and resilience I help generate in others also creates a synergistic process in me that helps me to cope with the all the disturbing truths I'm encountering during this awakening and healing process. While it's not all bad for sure, a good chunk of it has been very harsh. Finding many little joys helps to offset what can become a morass of depression.
I also bought some Bitcoin and Etherium last week while it was still low, not a lot, but enough to get excited.
And, of course, there's progress in the Victory Garden, some real life gems. Making America Great Again, one life, one backyard at a time.
