Hi. My name is Ericka. I've been a Registered Nurse/Public Health Nurse since May of 2000. I worked in a hospital for a couple of years, became disenchanted with the current healthcare system that orders nurses to run from room to room giving cups full of pills, hanging IVs while hastily computing drip rates, repeatedly encouraging confused, combative, often delirious seniors to stay in bed after their hip surgery. We were never adequately staffed in my opinion. We had little time to check for med interactions. Hence the stats on morbidity & mortality on med errors and deaths from interactions all across the country. So my humble opinion which is also one of an experienced professional, may have some degree of validity. The medical (traditional Western model of it) is so dysfunctional, we fail to see the truth and deal with it appropriately.
At the hospital a rep from Pelican Bay State Prison recruited me for about a year, stating that working conditions at the prison were better. I eventually made the career move and worked at the prison until the medical/corrections politics became so intense, leading to inappropriate behavior by some officers. I left after about 7 years work there.
Currently I hold a job as a public health nurse--very tenously due to health problems, likely arising out of the cognitive dissonance I have about the job. I am so bogged down with red tape. 80% of my job is red tape. In fact, I often say that what I do is tie pretty bows of red tape. If the bows aren't just so, I'm required to redo it until it meets certain nebulous standards.
My passion is to assist awareness of real public health issues. These include: The danger of and truth about why we have fluoride in our water; why, despite the evidence of their danger, many farmers continue to use pesticides; Solar Radiation Management, geo-engineering or chemtrails--they are real and we don't even know how harmful they are. What is going on right now is live testing on an unsuspecting public. .
Anyway, that's a little about my background and what I am struggling with.
